Goodbye 2009

Tomorrow will be the last day of the year 2009. Tourist, and some native new yorkers will be at times square tomorrow to watch the ball drop at Midnight. I can't possibly fathom why someone who actually lives in new york would want to watch the ball drop, Now true its a very Pretty thing to see, But As A native New yorker I would rather not be in a crowded place, With limited access to leave the area to even go to a restroom.

Some of the rules include no Alcohol (duh, But we all know everyone drinks beforehand and After.) No bags or backpacks,No cars will be allowed in the area where the ball drop takes place which is along 7th Avenue, With that said, No thanks. I will be staying home watching it from the comfort of my couch. The trains at times square will be in full force on new years, And police officers will be all over the place. I know one things for sure, everyone who actually lives here will be watching the ball From another location, although I'm sure there are a few troopers who will want to be packed like sardines with the tourists and etc. To them I say good luck and I am sure you will change your mind next year. Oh and Btw check out Transit Bloggers site if you are traveling tomorrow in the city.

Personally This year wasn't very good for me, and It sure wasn't good for a lot of people due to various reasons, Many people were fired due to the recession, Which lead to Many families Looking for ways to survive, Whether you live in new york or anywhere else in the united states, It has affected us all one way or another. I Know things won't change overnight But I hope that the new year brings positive changes to my friends and family, Also to everyone who has been struggling this past year. Things can only get better from here, At least I truly Hope so..

XoXo
Carolyn
